Vacation Bible School

Barnyard Roundup

Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 14

At Barnyard Roundup, kids have fun being kids as they explore the Bible, make new friends, sing songs, and learn how Jesus works through them in their everyday lives. Our 2017 VBS takes kids out into the fields to discover five Bible truths that excite and challenge them. Farmers of all ages learn that God gives them the wisdom and the courage to step out in faith as Jesus works through them—whether they’re at school, playing with friends, or helping out at home. Get excited for a farm-tastic experience that makes a lasting impact on kids!

Come join us on July 10-14th for our Vacation Bible School, from 9 a.m. – noon. It’s $10 per child and there will be a family night on July 14th from 6:30-8 p.m. Please contact Emily Sellas at 772-380-6890 or

Kids and adults alike are welcome to join and experience the joy of praising and worshiping our Lord through movement, dance, ribbons, flags, and tambourines! No previous dance experience is necessary. Contact Deborah Harris at

Lenten Worship Services

The year 2017 marks the international observance of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. In honor of that anniversary, this midweek Lenten series is built around Luther’s Small Catechism.  We will worship to the tune of basic but vital elements of Christian faith; The Ten Commandments, Apostles Creed, Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, and Holy Communion.
Come join us, March 8th, for a soup supper at 6 p.m and a Lenten service at 6:30 p.m. Week 1 – Ten Commandments – All are welcome!

DreamLeader Initiative Workshop

(Ephesians 3:17-18 LB) I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your heart, living within you as you trust Him. May your roots go deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love, and may you  be able to feel and understand…how long, wide, deep, and high His love really is, and experience this love for yourselves.

The Plan

Bishop Schaefer nominated our congregation to participate in the DreamLeaders Initiative that was launched in the Florida-Bahamas Synod last fall. It is designed to complement and enhance our ministry efforts, so please take a moment to learn more at Thanks to a second grant from the Synod’s Together in Mission Campaign, all costs will again be covered except for the meals Friday night and Saturday which can be as simple or as elaborate as we choose. If our congregation feels blessed by the weekend and would like to extend the blessing to another congregation by making a “pay it forward” donation, we are certainly welcome to do so. There are truly no strings attached. Pastor Jeff Linman will be spending the weekend, February 17-19, 2017 with our congregation. He will also be preaching during both Worship Services. Here is a quick overview of the DreamLeaders Initiative weekend to aid in our planning:

Friday: Dinner with our church council, ministry team leaders, staff, and other members in the congregation who would like to dream a bit together about our congregation’s future. The more the better.  This will be a relaxed and informal time to get acquainted and build some trust, anticipation, and momentum for Saturday. We are  having a potluck.

Saturday: 5 hour workshop, 9am -2pm, with a lunch around noon. We want our church council, ministry team leaders, staff, and other members in the congregation who would like to dream a bit together about our congregation’s future. The more the better.

Sunday: Pastor Linman plans to preach during both Worship Services and lead an Adult Forum at 10:15 a.m. During the forum, his presentation will be based on Ephesians 3:20 and how its witness has been confirmed through what God has done at Spirit of Joy. According to Pastor Linman, we are not perfect by a long shot but we are a good witness for those who have doubts about the future of the church.
